"My inspiration was to create a versatile and timeless palette and one that isn’t based on current trends, so it allows you to create a multitude of looks," Ortega explains ."The shades work for any type of skin color and on any type of woman. I was inspired by my clients and the looks we like to play with, so I designed it keeping in mind that it would be my go-to palette for them," he adds.
To apply the shadows in true celeb fashion, Ortega recommends using a blending brush. He says, "The shades are very easy to blend, but I always love to have a blending brush. It is key to a really flawless finished look. You can also use a shadow applicator brush and a sponge wand."
"For Kate Bekinsale's look, I stuck to cooler, purply shades such as Paradise," he dishes. "Since it was for a red carpet event, we made it a little more dramatic and smoked out her eye and accentuated towards the outer corner of her eye for a dramatic effect." Another pro-tip? "Wetting any of your brushes and dipping them into the colors will intensify the pigment of the shadow."
To make Paris Hilton's eyes truly pop, Ortega reveals that he used a white liner on the lower lash line. He says, "Using a white liner really gives you the illusion of a more open eye!"
