Ricki’s a Mrs. again!
Eight months after announcing her engagement to Christian Evans, Ricki Lake eloped this past weekend, her rep confirms to Us Weekly.
“They were planning on doing it this way and didn’t want a big spectacle,” explains a source. “Ricki is so happy! She really found love again.”
She dropped a not-so-subtle hint on Twitter Tuesday with a fuzzy but stunning shot of herself, clad in a lacy wedding gown and holding a bouquet, looking out a window from a cozy-looking room.
“Yup, this is me,” the actress and talk show host, 43, wrote above the photo. “Sadie Sadie married lady. 🙂 🙂 Love is in the air. Xo”
After about a year of dating, Lake and beau Evans got engaged in August 2011 during a vacation in Spain. It’s the second marriage for Lake, who divorced Rob Sussman in 2003 after nine years together; she and Sussman share sons Milo, 15, and Owen, 10.
Lake herself was shocked to find herself engaged again.
“Following the end of my first marriage, I was certain that romantic love would not find me again,” the Dancing with the Stars runner-up admitted on her iVillage blog last year.
“I would always tell my inner circle. ‘I will never marry again. Even if I meet Mr. Right, there is no need to make anything ‘official.'”
She gushed of Evans: “On my 42nd birthday, true love walked into my life, and I am not letting it out.”
She called her man “The kindest, most caring spirit. . . Most important, he loves my kids and my kids love him. There is nothing better than seeing all of my guys together.”
