Divorced Eva Longoria is ready to help single women around the country get their groove back.
The Desperate Housewives star is developing a series with NBC to help "real women" get back into the dating pool after messy breakups.
"It's a concept she created," a source tells Us Weekly of the series, which was conceptualized after Longoria, 37, endured painful divorce from NBA hunk Tony Parker, 29, in 2010. (Longoria was compelled to split from the San Antonio Spurs player after she discovered hundreds of inappropriate texts between him and another woman, their close pal Erin Barry.)
Enlisting the help of celebrity matchmakers including Steve Ward and Amber Kelleher, Longoria's project — as first reported by The New York Post's Page Six — is expected to go into production next month.
"It's designed to help real women get back into the dating pool," a source tells Us of the star's unnamed series, which will feature Ward and others coaching the women as they begin dating again. "They've chosen single women and single mothers — women who have been through a series of heartaches and battles in life and have all but given up on finding one true love," continues the source.
Having dated Penelope Cruz's younger brother, Eduardo, for more than a year before calling it quits earlier this month, Longoria has kept her spirits high despite being unlucky in love.
"It's so funny, because I don't get depressed," she told the January issue of Health magazine. "Even after my divorce, everybody was like, 'Wow, you bounced back so quick.' I was like, 'I am not letting this take over. Something great is around the corner — I can't wait to see what's going to happen.'"
