Khloe Kardashian Reveals Lamar Odom Has “Emotional Issues,” Needs Help on Keeping Up With the Kardashians

Khloe Kardashian Odom and Lamar Odom on April 30, 2012 in NYC.
During a Nov. 3 episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Khloe Kardashian reveals husband Lamar Odom has "emotional issues" and "nothing's really working" to help him.

Warning signs? Though Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom are now working out their marital problems after months of estrangement, their relationship drama is only just unfolding on their E! reality show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians. During the Sunday, Nov. 3 episode, Kardashian, 29, opened up about her problems at home with her husband of four years.

The reality starlet decided to go on a camping trip with her family, minus her NBA player hubby. "Even though I don't like camping, right now I need all the distractions I can get," Kardashian admitted. "They're kind of like therapy for me."

During a family camp fire, Kardashian received a phone call from Odom, 33, and explained, "Lamar has been having a really tough time lately and it's not just black and white. There's a lot of emotional issues and as much as I'm trying to enjoy going camping with my family I also have to cater to Lamar's needs."

After hanging up with his wife, Odom immediately called Kardashian's stepfather, Bruce Jenner, who was sitting next to her at the camp fire. Brother Rob Kardashian then shared that his brother-in-law sometimes called him seven times a day. "There's so much going on in the Odom household that no one could understand and nor should they," Rob said. "All I can do is support my sister."

Multiple sources confirmed to Us Weekly in August that Odom was battling a serious substance abuse problem. The NBA free agent was reported "missing" late in August, but his agent Jeff Schwartz told ESPN.com: "His wife knows exactly where he is." He later turned up on Aug. 30 when he was arrested for driving under the influence in L.A.

Near the end of her family camping trip, Kardashian was alerted by Odom's assistant that her husband had gone missing. "If someone wants to leave, they want to leave," she said of Odom. "You're not my child, I can't lock you in a room."

But Kardashian also admitted on the show, "It's really scary when nothing's really working and you know if you give up, no one in his life would be able to help." During a Twitter rant on Sept. 24, Odom slammed his "absent" father Joe Odom for criticizing the Kardashians. "He wasn't there 2 raise me. He was absent ALL of my life due to his own demons," the athlete tweeted about his father. "My mother and grandmother raised me. Queens raised me." He also defended his wife's mega-famous family, writing, "He disrespecting the ONLY FAMILY that has loved me without expecting anything in return. They are the ONLY ones that have been here consistently 4 me during this dark time. Only person 2 blame is myself."

Us exclusively revealed last week that Kardashian has decided to give Odom a second chance after kicking him out of their home. At a comedy show event in L.A. on Oct. 30, Odom told Us that he and Kardashian are doing well. "We're wonderful. We're unbreakable," he said. "That's why I wear my wedding ring." Kardashian and Odom were recently spotted together — with the whole Kardashian family — at Kanye West's Yeezus tour show at the Staples Center in L.A. on Oct. 28.
