Singers Adele and Kelly Clarkson attend Sony Music Grammy Reception
Kelly Clarkson, who announced on Nov. 19 that she's pregnant, says fellow pop superstar Adele warned her last year not to have a baby too soon

"Rumour Has It" that Adele warned Kelly Clarkson not to have a baby! Months before the "Stronger" singer announced that she and husband Brandon Blackstock are expecting their first child together, she talked with Adele about starting a family, and the British hit-maker told her to take her time.

"I ran into her at the Grammys last year, and I was like, 'So, when is your next album coming out?'" Clarkson, 31, told Us Weekly in a recent interview. "She knows now I'm a superfan. She's so sweet. She's my big favorite to work with just because I'm a huge fan. She told me she was a big fan, too, and gave me some advice."

So, what specific words of wisdom did the Grammy-winning Brit share with the pop star? "She said, 'Girl, don't have a baby 'cause everything else will go on the back burner. I'm so happy living in babyland,'" Clarkson recalled.

(The soulful "Someone Like You" chanteuse welcomed a son, Angelo, with Simon Konecki in October 2012 and has been taking an extended break. She has yet to release a followup to her smash 2011 album 21, though she recorded her Grammy- and Oscar-winning James Bond single "Skyfall" in 2012.)

Clarkson herself will soon be a resident of babyland, too. And she, like Adele, couldn't be happier about it.

"I'm pregnant!!!" the season one American Idol winner tweeted excitedly to her nine million followers on Tuesday, Nov. 19. "Brandon and I are so excited! Best early Christmas present ever."

A baby has been on the newlywed's wish list for some time now. "More than anything, next I want a baby," she told Us before her wedding. "My record label is freaking out because all I can talk about now are babies. We're really excited and want to get our family started. I'm 31 and we'd like to do it the natural way. My eggs aren't getting any younger!"

The "Tie It Up" singer didn't grow up wanting to be a mom, but she got on board with the idea when she started dating Blackstock, who has two children, Savannah, 11, and Seth, 7, from a previous relationship. "[Brandon] has two kids that I love and they are cool with it," she told Us of adding to the family. "We got the A-OK from them, so we are ready to go."
