Jet Skier Who Hit Usher’s Former Stepson Found Guilty of Homicide

Usher
Jeffrey Hubbard was found guilty of homicide after the jet ski accident that killed Usher's former stepson Kile Glover.

It's a tough time for Usher and ex-wife Tameka Foster. A year and a half after the tragic death of Kile Glover — Foster's son and Usher's former stepson — their family friend Jeffrey Hubbard was found guilty of homicide by vessel, reckless operation, and unlawful operation of a personal watercraft, TMZ reports.

The boy passed away at age 11 on July 21, 2012 after weeks of remaining unconscious following the July 8 crash.

During a group outing on a lake near Atlanta on July 8, 2012, Hubbard's jet ski collided with Glover's inner tube, causing severe brain injuries. Kile never woke up, and passed away on July 21. Hubbard was officially arrested in March 2013.

Usher, 35, and Foster, 43, divorced bitterly in 2009 after two years of marriage, and though they're still engaged in an intense custody battle over their two young sons, both grieved together over the loss of Kile in 2012.

"I miss Kile," the R&B singer told Oprah Winfrey in September 2012. "We cooked together, we laughed, we sang. He loved to sing and dance. He loved to tell jokes."

Foster has understandably struggled with the loss, and has created "Kile's World" — a charity that helps fund underprivileged children's stays in summer camp.
