After being caught red-handed, director Rupert Sanders is apologizing for his illicit affair with actress Kristen Stewart.
Photographers snapped the Snow White and the Huntsman director, 41, and the film’s leading lady, 22, packing on the PDA in L.A. July 17 — and the new issue of Us Weekly has the exclusive photos and details.
On July 25, shortly after Stewart issued her own public apology, Sanders followed suit. “I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family,” the English director told Us in a statement. “My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together.”
Sanders and British Vogue model Liberty Ross, 33, have been married for seven years. They have two children, ages 7 and 5.
Stewart — long linked to her Twilight costar, Robert Pattinson, 26 — previously said she is “deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.”
