Scientology Leader David Miscavige’s Wife “Is Not Missing”: Rep

Mrs. Shelly Miscavige, the wife of Scientology leader David Miscavige, is doing just fine, thanks.

As the Church of Scientology returns to the global spotlight thanks to the high-profile divorce of church member Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, old stories about prominent members of the religious organization have popped up in the media.

This includes the mysterious case of Michelle "Shelly" Miscavige — she is said to have helped set up Cruise and Holmes — who reportedly has not been seen since 2007.

Attorneys who represent Shelly told Us Weekly on Friday: "She is not missing. Any reports that she is missing are false . . . Mrs. Miscavige has been working non-stop in the Church, as she always has."

Shelly's husband David Miscavige, 52, worked as an assistant to Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard and became the leader of the talked-about group in the 1980s. He served as best man at Cruise's November 2006 wedding to Holmes, 33.

"I have never met a more competent, more intelligent, more tolerant, more compassionate being outside of what I've experienced from L. Ron Hubbard," Cruise, 50, has said of his pal.
