Saturday Night Live host Daniel Craig was upstaged by Big Bird.
The Sesame Street star stopped by Weekend Update Saturday night to share his thoughts on being mentioned by Mitt Romney in Wednesday's presidential debate.
"It's seven hours past my bedtime," Big Bird, who was yawning, told Seth Meyers on the SNL set.
"So Big Bird, how did you find out that your name had been mentioned in the debate?" SNL star Meyers, 38, asked.
"Oh, I got a million tweets," the 8-foot-tall talking bird joked. "I'm a bird. Tweeting is how we talk."
During Wednesday's debate, Republican presidential hopeful Romney stold moderator Jim Lehrer, who is executive editor for PBS NewsHour, "I'm sorry Jim, I'm gonna stop the subsidy to PBS. I like PBS. I love Big Bird. I actually like you, too. But I'm not gonna keep on spending money on things to borrow money from China to pay for it."
Big Bird didn't want to make a political statement during his appearance, and explained, "I don't want to ruffle any feathers. But I do have a political joke."
"Who likes debates?" he asked. "De-fishes."
