Kanye West is a man of his word.

Just a couple of days after deleting all of tweets and leaving his 8.6 followers with a simple "Be back soon," West, 35, is tweeting again — this time, to pay homage to Apple's late co-founder, Steve Jobs.

"WE LOST STEVE A YEAR AGO TODAY . . ." West wrote Friday evening, using his signature all-caps style. "HE IS ONE OF THE MOST INSPIRING AND INFLUENTIAL HUMAN BEINGS OF OUR EXISTENCE ALONG WITH MICHAEL JACKSON, WALT DISNEY AND DR. [MARTIN LUTHER] KING."

Added West, "LET'S BE THANKFUL FOR HIS LIFE AND RESPECT HIS LEGACY BY NEVER COMPROMISING ON OUR FUTURE."

Prior to clearing his Twitter feed, the outspoken Grammy winner was known for his always entertaining, often outrageous musings about life on the A-list. (Among the best? "I specifically ordered persian rugs with cherub imagery!!! What do I have to do to get a simple rug with cherub imagery uuuuugh," he wrote in July 2010. And, "I hate when I'm on a flight and I wake up with a water bottle next to me like oh great now I gotta be responsible for this water bottle," he tweeted that October.)

More recently, West had been keeping his Twitter transmissions short and sweet.

"Mercy," he captioned a photo of girlfriend Kim Kardashian, 31, in a formfitting backless Tom Ford dress in early August. A few days later he let his followers know, "I wrote the song Perfect Bitch about Kim."
