Will the backlash Stacey Dash endured after voicing her support for Mitt Romney change her mind about voting for the Republican presidential nominee? As if!

The Clueless actress, 46, appeared on Piers Morgan Tonight October 9 to defend her October 7 tweet endorsing the politician, 65. (Dash called Romney "the only voice for your future" and posted a photo of herself in a red bathing suit standing in front of an American flag.)

"I really don't understand the fury," Dash said. "I don't understand it. I don't get it. I was shocked, saddened — not angry. Saddened and really shocked. But you know what, you can't expect everyone to agree with you."

Indeed. One Twitter user told Dash she was "an unemployed black woman endorsing Mitt Romney. You're voting against yourself thrice. You poor beautiful idiot." Another user told "the old hag" to "kill herself."

Dash, who said she voted for Democratic President Barack Obama in 2008, explained that she believes in Romney's vision for what the United States could be. "I watched him, the Governor and his wife, on Meet The Press. They spoke to me," she said. "They seemed authentic and genuine."

Luckily, not everyone is giving Dash the cold shoulder. "Had a great conversation with Stacey this afternoon," Paul Ryan, Romney's vice presidential running mate tweeted October 9. "Thank you for your support!"

Dash has been back in the spotlight thanks to a highly publicized Clueless reunion in Entertainment Weekly.
