Cameron Diaz's abs might be rock-hard (seriously, have you seen her super-muscular bikini body?), but her latest makeup look — pale lilac lips — is soft and pretty. Plus, it's easier to pull off than the summer's uber popular fuchsia lipstick trend.
"A lavender lip color looks girlie, but it's way more unexpected than pink," says celeb makeup artist Shannon Pezzetta.
To get the look, start by applying a base for the shade — a lipstick that's nude or flesh-toned will help bring out the purple tones while anchoring your gloss for all-day wear. Next, dab a shimmering violet gloss on top and blend with a fingertip, says Pezzetta. For a more casual, weekend-appropriate take on the look, simply swipe on a sheer purple gloss. Try Urban Decay Lip Love Honey-Insused Lip Therapy in Stung ($16, sephora.com) and Stila Lip Glaze in Black Cherry ($22, sephora.com)
