If Gwyneth Paltrow really is a Mean Girl, she keeps it hidden well from her mom Blythe Danner.
In a recent interview with British Vogue, Paltrow, 37, admitted, "I can be mean…I can ice people out and I definitely harbor revenge."
"I didn't know she said that!" actress Danner, 67, told UsMagazine.com at Thursday's Gen Art Film Festival premiere of Waiting for Forever in NYC. "Well, I still haven't seen it, but I guess we all have the potential."
Her Oscar-winning daughter also told Vogue that she sometimes wakes up "holding on to so much hate.'"
Danner countered to Us, "Nobody's perfect, but I don't see it in her."
The actress raved to reporters about Paltrow's relationship with her "phenomenal" kids Apple, 5, and Moses, 4.
"She really really invests herself in an unusual way," Danner exclaimed. "She spends a lot of time with them–she answers everything, she anticipates, she never surprises them. They're well-prepared for the travel and all the things that go on. They're very happy kids."
As for reports of marital problems between Paltrow and husband Chris Martin, Danner retorted, "Oh, no! They're really, and they're a wonderful family."
Danner is the widow of director Bruce Paltrow, who died in 2002. The couple's other child is son Jake Paltrow, 34, a film director.
