Britney Spears' early New Year's resolution? To separate fact from fiction.
The singer unveiled a "BS Alert" page on her Web site Monday in an effort to call out the 75 most outlandish and untrue stories written about her over the last 12 months.
"There were more then 13,000 stories written about Britney in 2009," the blog, posted by Spears' manager, Adam Leber, reads. "We ranked the ones we believe were the most ridiculous. Either because they were factually inaccurate, because they reported the patently absurd, or because we believe they are simply offensive to the sensibilities."
What was the biggest B.S. story in the year of Britney Spears?
A January U.K. tabloid report that the singer was dating Indian choreographer Sandip Soparrkar, and introduced the Bollywood dance star to her parents over an intimate New Year's Eve dinner party. (Spears is actually dating her 37-year-old agent, Jason Trawick.)
Also on the list were rumors that the singer's dad, Jamie, and manager, Larry Rudolph, were looking to set up Spears with actors including Chace Crawford, Jesse Metcalfe and Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps, the fifteenth most ridiculous story, according to Team Britney.
Spears' kids, Sean, 4, and Jayden, 3, also made the rumor mill, being called out in the top 20 after allegedly causing damage to a $2,000-a-night suite at Connecticut's Mohegan Sun Casino where their mom performed during her Circus tour.
