Conan O’Brien Hits Bonaroo

Conan O'Brien has a lot of time on his hands. No longer shackled to hosting the Tonight Show and with only one person to follow on Twitter, the flame-haired comic is now hitting the music festival circuit by headlining the Comedy Theater  at the popular Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tenn., this year.

But he’s not going it alone: Other modern-day comedy greats including Margaret Cho, Aziz Ansari, Jeffrey Ross and Greg Giraldo will also be performing at the three-day fest from June 10-13. Founded in 2002, the event is now one of the most anticipated and will officially kick off the summer tour season. Musically speaking, O'Brien will be in good company and have plenty to check out when he's done with his set. Of the 125 music acts playing the other stages this year, standouts this year include Kings of Leon, The Dave Matthews Band, Jay-Z, Stevie Wonder, Weezer, The Dead Weather, Phoenix — and another comic legend, Steve Martin with his band, The Steep Canyon Rangers.

Of course, O'Brien isn’t the first to make comedy a festival highlight: Past funnymen appearing have included Chris Rock, Jimmy Fallon, Zach Galifinakis, Janeane Garofalo and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog (well, not a person but we’ll count him in!)
