Angelina Jolie recently revealed she "never had any trouble" with her peers — but that could change when Angelina: An Authorized Biography hits shelves this August.
Penned by New York Times bestselling author Andrew Morton, the book promises to reveal the most private details of the 35-year-old actress' life.
"Angelina Jolie is one of the most fascinating and enigmatic celebrities on the planet," Morton tells UsMagazine.com exclusively in a statement. "Over the last year I have spoken to everyone from ambassadors to directors, fellow actors and even her one time drug dealer to present a compelling portrait of a beguiling yet elusive woman."
Jolie, for her part, has recently downplayed her tumultuous past, which includes an affinity for tattoos, knives and wild stunts.
"Part of the sadness in this business is that there are a lot of people in it looking for approval and love," she told Parade. "I'm lucky because I was raised with so much love that I can take a lot of knocks and not take anything personally."
But Morton — who's written about Tom Cruise, Monica Lewinsky and the late Princess Diana — claims his new tome will expose Jolie for who she really is.
“The ad campaign for Angelina’s new movie asks, 'Who is Salt?'" Morton tells Us. "In my new book I ask, 'Who is Angelina?' Even she will be surprised by the answers."
