"We're not engaged anymore, but he's always going to be a huge part of my life," an emotional Maynard, 25, revealed to Bachelor host Chris Harrison. "For so long, I feel like we left a 'dot-dot-dot' [lack of closure in our relationship] and I feel bad it took us this long to let everybody know, but now I'm ready to say it."

Explaining her breakup so viewers wouldn't feel "lied to," Maynard told Harrison she harbors no ill will toward Womack, and the pair still keep in touch via text. "I'll always be in love with Brad," Maynard admitted. "No one will ever hear me saying a bad word about him, [but] not a day goes by where I don't wish things had turned out different."

Largely keeping out of the public eye after Womack proposed on The Bachelor in March, single mom Maynard hinted Womack was the one to end their relationship.

"The day Brad proposed was the happiest day of my life. I was going to get an apartment with [6-year-old daughter] Ricki in [Womack's hometown of] Austin and little red flags came up in our relationship. I wanted to be married and have more children, but I doubted he was going to still want to be with me," she told Harrison. "As a single mom, I don't have the luxury of saying "we'll figure it out when we get there." I need that reassurance that he'd want to be with me six weeks down the road much less six years."

Though Womack did not appear on camera during the interview, Harrison insisted he gave Maynard his blessing to do the interview.

"He's changed me a lot as a person," Maynard reasoned of her ex. "I felt like it was a fairytale when I was going through it and I felt like everyone else did too. I swore that we'd be the [Bachelor couple] that would work. Everybody deserves to know what happened but I want it to end with this."
