Call her The Incredible Shrinking Hudson!

Jennifer Hudson, 29, dropped 80 pounds before releasing her sophomore disc, I Remember Me, on March 21 (to celebrate, Ciroc even whipped up special low-cal cocktails like the Coco Hudson for her album release party at NYC’s Tenjune that night). But that isn't the only change the Oscar and Grammy winner has in the works.

She spoke to UsMagazine.com about not only expanding her musical repertoire but her growing family (she has nine-month-old son David with fiance David Otunga — as well as three pomeranians, Dreamgirl, Oscar and Grammy!).

UsMagazine.com: You're a mom, you're a singer, you're an actor, how do you incorporate an exercise regimen into your normal everyday life?

Jennifer Hudson: You have to make that a priority like you do everything else like getting up, brushing your teeth and things like that.  One of my old friends would say there are 24 hours in a day and one of those have to be yours, and that is so true.  You have to set your mind and put yourself first and that's what I try to do.

Us: Is it difficult to balance acting, and music, and motherhood?

JH: It can be if you look at it that way, but I do try to take everything one step at a time. If I'm acting, I'm acting; if I'm singing, I'm singing. I'm not going to do both at the same time, so it's either one or the other.  We just finished the film, now we're back to the music, and after this we'll go back to the film side.

Us: How would you say this album is different from the last album?

JH: I feel like this album has captured me vocally as an artist and as a musician. I was definitely hands-on and completely involved.  I feel like we knew my direction this time around versus the last time.  The first time we were like, 'hey, what direction should we go in?'

Us: What was your inspiration for the album cover?

JH: I'm rediscovering myself, so it was definitely a moment for me . Anthony Mandler did the artwork and he did a wonderful job.  It was almost impossible to take that shot, but it just felt right with the place that I am at now. I can't even find the words to explain to you what that is.

Us: Can you share your favorite diet tip for the summer?

JH: Weight Watchers is my favorite diet tip! But that's not a diet, so I can't say that.

Us: Do you indulge yourself?

JH: I do, but as long as I trust my plan, which is the Weight Watchers plan, I know I'm on the right path.  And that's what I try to do while I'm filming or singing, or while I'm at home being mommy.

Us: What was it like singing with Brooks and Dunn recently?

JH: I sang for their farewell concert, and I didn't understand at first when they called me to sing.  I was like, 'why did they choose me to sing? I don't sing country.'  But when I heard the song it made perfect sense and I fell in love with it and I knew that song had to be on my album.

Us: You looked fabulous at the Oscars in Versace! What trends are you looking forward to indulging in?

JH: I'm all about color for the summer. I have never been a color person, but now I am color crazy! I want to make sure that everything is bright and happy and just full of colors.

Us: Lastly, you have such an adorable son. Do you want to have more kids in the future?

JH: Definitely, I want him to have little sister eventually. No time soon though!
