Tammy Lynn Michaels to Ex Melissa Etheridge: I Can’t Survive on $23,000 a Month

Change can be difficult.

Melissa Etheridge's ex Tammy Lynn Michaels is demanding more money in her monthly child and spousal support, according to new court documents obtained by Yahoo!.

The former actress claims she can't survive on the $23,000 per month she's now receiving; During her marriage to Etheridge, Michaels was reportedly living on $128,000 a month.

Michaels, 37, and Etheridge, 50, were together for nine years before separating in April 2010. The former couple have five-year-old twins together, daughter Johnnie Rose and son Miller.

Their breakup has been an ongoing public battle. Michaels now claims she "has limited income and virtually no savings." However, she states Etheridge "has extensive resources at her disposal and a tremendous earning capacity."

Michaels also claims in the filing that Etheridge is teaching their children to be "distant and withdrawn" from her and is asking for the singer's custodial time with them to be reduced.

Shortly after her split from Michaels, Etheridge began dating Nurse Jackie creator Linda Wallem, 50.

Michaels claimed to be "blindsided" by the split in her personal blog and "missing a piece of me that is so large."
