Miley Cyrus is still struggling to come to terms with the loss of her beloved rescue dog Floyd. The grieving pet owner performed at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Saturday, April 5, serenading a gigantic replica of her late dog.
The 20-year-old was visibly shaken during the performance, reaching up the dog’s leg while singing “Can’t Be Tamed.”
“That was the hardest song of the night to do. As yawl know, because I lost my Floydie this week…Sometimes I just can’t stop from breaking down crying,” Cyrus told the Brooklyn audience, which included Madonna, while getting emotional. “But it’s so healing for me to be here with you.”
The former Disney star continued to get personal with her fans, singing a cover of Coldplay’s “The Scientist” and introducing the tune by saying, “I’d like to dedicate it to Floyd. These have been the hardest days I have ever been though.”
To help deal with the loss, Cyrus added a new puppy named Moonie to her family of pets.
“my mama knew my heart was broken & this morning I woke up to Moonie kisses,” she tweeted along with an adorable picture of the new puppy.
The “Wrecking Ball” singer is also mom to rescue dogs Ziggy, Happy, Mary Jane, and Penny Lane.
“So torn. I love having little Moonie cuddle w me and Mary Jane but just don’t know if I’m ready to love again,” Cyrus tweeted on April 5.
