Finally, a Dawson's Creek reunion — or at least the closest fans are going to get to it for now.
Busy Philipps will be guest starring on the new season of Don't Trust the B—- in Apt. 23 alongside her former Dawson's Creek costar James Van Der Beek.
"I had so much fun!" Philipps, 33, told reporters at the opening night of The Book of Mormon at the Pantages theater in Hollywood Wednesday. "James Van Der Beek called me up personally and he said, ' So you know this offer you have to come on my show . . . I really want you to do it.' My agents told me, 'They want you to play a slightly funny b—-y version of yourself. Are you in?' Of course I was."
On the hit ABC comedy, Van Der Beek, 35, also plays himself. Reuniting with the actor brought back old memories for Philipps.
"It was one scene and it was so much fun," she said. "It was great to sit across from him and I had a fun time reminiscing. I remember my first big scene on Dawson's Creek was with James and my character was taking him on a tour of our college, so I was having flashbacks of that moment."
Will there be a surprise cameo from Philipps good friend and former Dawson's Creek star Michelle Williams?
"No!" Philipps said, already shutting down the rumors. But what about Joshua Jackson?
"I don't know, you'll have to tune in and see," she teased. "But much in the same way that James plays this alter ego, James Van Der Beek, that's obviously nowhere near what he has going on in real life, that's what they do with my character and it's fun. My character of Busy Philipps shows up to basically tell him the way that everyone feels about him from the cast. It gets interesting."
The new season of Don't Trust the B—- in Apt. 23 premieres Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 9:30 EST.
