Robert Pattinson may be hurting on the inside after Kristen Stewart was caught cheating, but on the outside he’s looking better than ever!
The 26-year-old Cosmopolis star made his first post-scandal appearance on Monday in NYC looking slim and sexy. To welcome Pattinson back into the spotlight, his TV hosts have been offering his favorite comfort foods — but he hasn’t been indulging.
Jon Stewart greeted Pattinson on The Daily Show with his own pint of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream on Monday. “I’m trying to avoid eating this because I’m going to split my Spanx,” Pattinson joked. “I’m double Spanxed.”
“Yeah, you have gotten to be a fat [expletive],” the host said with a laugh. “You’re going to blow up to 138!”
On Wednesday, Good Morning America also gave Pattinson a tasty treat. “We did our research and thought it was more appropriate for breakfast — your favorite cereal Cinnamon Toast Crunch,” George Stephanopoulos said.
But the actor didn’t dive right in! He explained, “I’m literally reading the nutritional facts.” To his surprise, Pattinson said, “It’s only 30 calories [from fat].”
Sources told Us Weekly back in April that Pattinson was “upset” after photos emerged of him wearing only swim trunks while paddleboarding in Malibu. “He’s really insecure about his shirt being off,” a source said of the British star. And a source added that he stressed out about his smoking habit, explaining, “He’s trying to cut back.”
In the September issue of BlackBook magazine, the Twilight star revealed he is on an “all-liquid diet” and trying to get into better shape. He explained, “I had to be shirtless for a photo shoot, so I asked a nutritionist what’s a diet in which you can still drink as much as you want. She said a liquid diet.”
In addition, Pattinson has also recently quit smoking, instead he’s now using an electronic cigarette. At the Cosmopolis premiere afterparty at The Dream Downtown hotel in NYC Monday night, Pattinson puffed on his electronic cigarette while chatting with partygoers. He “looked happy,” one observer told Us. “He was friendly and spoke to everyone that said hello.”
