Carrie Underwood went through many a costume change while hosting Wednesday's Country Music Awards, but her makeup stayed impeccable all night long.
Mimic the singer's glam look with these tips from her makeup artist, Melissa Schleicher:
Eyes
Using the Too Faced Naked Eye Kit ($35, sephora.com), sweep on the neutral "In the Buff." Then use the shimmery "Lap Dance" all over the lid. "I like to wet the shimmery shadows to get a more dewy long-lasting shine," Schleicher tells UsMagazine.com. Use the "Stiletto" matte black in the outer corner of the eye.
To add drama, Schleicher put on two sets of lashes: a full strip along the rims and a half strip at the tips (Schleicher used Smoke and Mirrors Beauty in New York City ($13.50, smokeandmirrorsbeauty.com) and MAC 20 ($16.50, maccosmetics.com)). Coat the lashes with Too Faced LashGasm mascara ($21, toofaced.com).
Face
For a base, apply Too Faced Primed and Poreless Face Primer ($30, toofaced.com). "Carrie didn't need any foundation so I just used a little of Sorme's pure beige powder and Temptu's concealer," says Schleicher. To seal the look, dust on Too Faced Primed and Poreless Powder ($28, toofaced.com).
Lips
Schleicher balanced Underwood's dramatic eye makeup with neutral lips. Apply MAC Boldly Bare ($15.50, maccosmetics.com) and then top with Too Faced Glamour Gloss Barely Legal ($19, toofaced.com).
