Charles J. Meyer — an attorney with the Pennsylvania-based Elliot Greenleaf firm — filed a petition with the Montgomery County, Pa., court system to withdraw as Jon's counsel.

Meyer represented Jon on June 24 when the reality couple filed divorce papers outside Philadelphia. (They live in Berks County, Pa., but they filed in neighboring Montgomery County because it has different privacy laws.)

In papers filed, Kate said their marriage was  "irretrievably broken."

The two have since gone on to slam each other in the press. Jon recently told ABC News he despises his wife for badmouthing him in the press.

On Tuesday's episode of The View, Kate said she soon won't be wearing her wedding ring anymore.

The kids asked why, and Kate said she told them, "'Mommy and daddy won't be married very much longer.'"
