Although her twins aren’t due until November, Celine Dion has checked into St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Fla., a hospital statement confirmed.
The singer, 42, isn’t suffering any complications from her pregnancy, the statement stressed.
“She has been admitted to prevent the early delivery of her babies which is the standard of care for any patient with twin pregnancy in this clinical setting,” the hospital explained. “This is done to ensure the patient can be in close contact with their doctors and clinical resources, leading up to their birth.”
Dion announced her pregnancy in late May; the pregnancy followed five unsuccessful in-vitro fertilization attempts. She and her husband Rene Angelil, 68, are already parents to son Rene-Charles, 9.
“Celine and Rene have placed the health of their babies as their highest priority,” the hospital’s statement added, slamming rumors that the couple made outlandish demands on the hospital or had pre-scheduled the twin’ birth.

Last year, Dion revealed to Oprah Winfrey that she had suffered a miscarriage after another IVF attempt.
“We’re living the reality of the majority of couples who face these procreation techniques,” Angelil told a French-Canadian newspaper in November.
