Report: Michael Jackson’s Body Stored in Crypt While Family Fights

Michael Jackson's body is temporarily being held in the L.A. mausoleum of Motown founder Berry Gordy.

The New York Post reports the King of Pop's casket has been stashed in the Court of Remembrance section of the Forest Lawn Cemetery while his family battles over how to best profit off his remains.

Besides Michael, the crypt is empty and marked only with a swooping letter "G."

Actress Sandra Dee, who died in 2005, is buried next door. The bodies of Bette Davis, Liberace and '70s star Freddie Prinze are nearby.

Brother Jermaine and dad Joseph want Michael laid to rest at the Neverland Ranch so they can make money off a Graceland-style museum, the Post reports.

"Jermaine is the one that wants him at Neverland — he and Joseph — because of the whole Elvis thing and the money potential," a family source told the paper. "They are seeing dollar signs."

Michael's mom Katherine and the rest of his siblings want to bury him elsewhere because he never wanted to return to Neverland following his acquittal on child-molestation charges.

"[Katherine] is still upset that Michael isn't buried and he is at Gordy's spot in Forest Lawn," the source added. "This fighting has to stop. We can never unite, and that's an injustice."

Michael's gold casket was last seen being carried out of the Staples Center Tuesday by his brothers after a celeb-filled public memorial.
