Gold medal moment!
The Spice Girls were the pop music victors at Sunday night's Closing Ceremonies spectacle for the London Olympics, with the five-member girl group stealing the spotlight with a much-anticipated, over-the-top reunion performance that didn't disappoint.
And even Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham — not known for being particularly effusive — was bowled over by the big moment.
"We did it!!" the fashion designer and mom, 37, tweeted. "I love u girls so much!!!!" In their first performance together in three years, Beckham joined Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown and Melanie Chisholm in the Olympic Stadium as each diva performed atop moving London cabbies.
"I was a pop star for the night!! I love u," she told her bandmates, with whom she formed the Spice Girls back in 1994 before a breakup in 2001.
After leaving the stadium, Beckham added she was "totally overwhelmed. Thank you so much to all of our AMAZING fans."
Added Bunton, now a 36-year-old mother of one and a successful British TV host: "What a night! Loved it!"
"What an amazing day….Soooo much fun!" mom of three and performer Brown (Scary Spice), 37, tweeted.
"That was amazing!!!! Thank you all , we love you!!xx " Halliwell (Ginger Spice) wrote. Tell Us: Who looked the best last night?
