Emily Maynard may seem smitten by hunky Georgia boy Ryan Bowers on The Bachelorette, but as it turns out, the 31-year-old has a hidden agenda that consists of much more than wooing the single mom.
Pulling Maynard, 26, aside on Monday’s show, Bowers feeds her syrupy lines about the importance of loyalty in a relationship, but quickly — and shockingly — shows his true colors during a separate conversation with contestant Michael.
“God has blessed me in a lot of ways, so I’m really evaluating Emily,” Bowers explains in an aside of the show’s leading lady, who will wine and dine the remaining bachelors in Bermuda on the next episode. “I like what I see in her. I see that there’s great potential, but to be very honest, I feel like I’m called to something bigger.”
Speaking to Michael, Bowers suggests that he’s really not on the show to win over Maynard and put a ring on her finger. “When this whole thing is done [and] I’m involved with the media back home, I’m going to say ‘Let’s do The Bachelor: Ryan,'” he says. “I would be ready to open my heart up and it would be great for everybody to see.”
