The biggest wedding of the summer got shut down early!

After Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries became man and wife Saturday at an estate in Montecito, Calif., it was time to party and dance to tunes spun by DJ Cassidy — but the super-lavish bash wound up earlier than expected, thanks to some cranky neighbors.

"They had to shut down the music early," a source tells Us Weekly, explaining that some locals had complained about the noise. Even Kim's brassy sister Khloe couldn't fix the situation. "She was talking to security guards — her friend's family knows the mayor of Montecito and they tried even to get in touch with him. Everyone in the neighborhood knew this wedding was happening. Just let them have their fun!"

Among the revelers that night, where Earth, Wind and Fire performed, with Robin Thicke singing the first dance, "Angel"? Eva Longoria and beau Eduardo Cruz (packing on the PDA throughout the evening), Ryan Seacrest, Julianne Hough, Demi Lovato, Lindsay Lohan, George Lopez, Brittny Gastineau, Eva Longoria, Mario Lopez plus Sugar Ray Leonard — who worked out with the groom on Saturday morning.

"It was amazing, absolutely gorgeous," the source says of the affair.

But the bride, in an ivory Vera Wang gown, kept a dry eye at that altar. "Kim didn't cry," the source says. "She was smiling the whole time."

At the alter, the wedding officiator read aloud three things the bride and groom wrote down about one another — Kim and Kris heard each other's praise for the first time.

In Humphries' segment, he recounted how "passionate" his bride was. "Kim said he makes her smile every day [and] bring the fun to her life," the source adds.

At the bash, the less-famous Humphries clan made a heartfelt speech. "They acknowledged it took some time to get used to Kim's public life, but they have grown to accept and appreciate her amazing work ethic. They have never met someone who is so dedicated and hard working as Kim," the insider adds.

When it was time to go home, guests left with a notepad featuring the happy couple's picture, a candle wrapped in a KK-embroidered box, plus heart-shaped Krispy Kreme donuts. Earlier in the weekend, upon their arrival at the hotel, guests received a gift-wrapped half-dozen Georgetown cupcakes (with a wedding monogram) with a welcome note.
