Are Amber Riley's days on Glee numbered?
That's the question the 25-year-old actress is asking herself after Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy recently announced plans to cut cast members Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Chris Colfer at the end of the show's third season.
"I may not be coming back for a fourth season," Riley tells E! News. "Who knows? Whatever happens this third season is what happens, and I think everybody's OK with it. I love my job to pieces, but when it's time to go, it's time to go and, hopefully, there are greater things on the horizon."
Like her three costars, Riley first heard about Murphy's casting changes "like everybody else did — on the Internet."
"But it's something that's not that surprising to us," she adds. "People think it's such a scandal when, really, it's not. I think it's smart to have new students come in, and I'm really excited."
Riley, who plays powerhouse singer Mercedes Jones on the FOX hit, says she'll be forever grateful for what the show has given her. "I want to really be a role model," the actress says. "I've been kind of put in that place, so I'm choosing to take it and go with it."
