As his wife Elin preps for a summer on Sweden's west coast — and plots out a divorce strategy — Tiger Woods acknowledged "incredible fan support" at the Masters, where the golfer tied for fourth place.
"To actually contend in a major….with all that has transpired in my life, was pretty cool," Woods, 34, gushed in a blog post on Friday. "I honestly didn't know what to expect from the fans, but they were absolutely incredible…It was unreal."
"It also felt great to be in the hunt again," he added, "but unfortunately, I didn't have my game." In the post, the billionaire athlete described his return to the sport ("My body knew what to do…I wanted to interact with as many fans as I could") and other upcoming competitions.
Interestingly, Woods only makes a brief mention of his down-time: "I took a little time off after the Masters to go scuba diving and spend time with my family," he wrote cryptically.
Tiger's wife Elin, 30, opted out of watching her husband compete in Augusta, Ga., and the couple haven't been seen together in several months. (Before departing for the Masters, the golfer was spotted solo picking up daughter Sam, 2, from school near their Orlando, Fla. home.)
A source close to the family tells UsMagazine.com that Elin, Sam and son Charlie, 14 months, will be spending "most of the summer" at Elin's $3 million estate in Vaxholm in her native Sweden, and Tiger won't be joining them.
As for a divorce in the aftermath of Woods' much-publicized infidelities?
"It's 100 percent happening," the insider told Us. "Elin and her mom met with a lawyer before they went to Sweden."
The source noted that it won't happen overnight: "It's going to take a long time to go through. [But] she will go through with it. She is all about being a mom. She will do it slowly and carefully."
