Get a room, you two! Things got surprisingly steamy between Rob Lowe and Ellen DeGeneres on Wednesday, April 9, when the Parks and Recreation alum stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show to chat about his new memoir, Love Life.
After chatting a bit about his “almost” hookup with Madonna back in the early ‘80s, the 50-year-old star segued into a story from his book about filming a romantic scene with singer/songwriter Jewel on the short-lived 2003 show The Lyon’s Den.
“I wanted to write some stories about what it’s like to be on a TV series, really, and more importantly, what it’s like to be on a TV series that is clearly an unmitigated disaster,” he told DeGeneres of the NBC series, which was canceled after just six episodes. “It’s a parade of indignities, and the culminating blow, for me, was having the actress who didn’t want to kiss me in the love scene.”
Lowe attempted to describe the “Who Will Save Your Soul” singer’s awkward reaction to their scripted makeout but then thought better of it and decided to demonstrate the kiss in real life — with DeGeneres. The rest you have to see for yourself!
