Oprah Winfrey arrives at OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network's 2011 TCA Winter Press Tour Cocktail Party at the Horseshoe Gardens at the Langham Hotel on January 6, 2011 in Pasadena, California.

Sounds like Oprah's ready to own up to a major career misstep.

During an appearance on CBS This Morning Monday, Winfrey, 58, spoke to her BFF, and the morning show's new co-host, Gayle King about her struggling OWN network, which launched in January 2011.

"Had I known [creating a network] was this difficult, I might have done something else," Winfrey told King. "If I knew then what I know now, I might have made different choices."

Continued the legendary talk show host, "If I were writing a book about it, I could call the book 101 Mistakes."

Still, Winfrey says she's determined to not let the pessimism surrounding her network get the best of her. "It's just press," she told King. "You know, because a thing appears to not be doing well, and I'd like to say this to everybody: because you failed at something — which we haven't failed — but just because you fail doesn't make you a failure."

In fact, Winfrey said she is aiming to use her time running the channel as a learning experience. "When you know that in the core of yourself, you can keep trying or you can use whatever is happening in that moment to say, 'Maybe I need to move in a new direction,'" she shared.

Despite OWN's troubles, the TV veteran, who left her legendary talk show in May 2011, said she can't imagine ever giving up on television.

"First of all, I would be happy in my garden under the tree with my dogs, reading a book. I'd be happy with doing that, as Stedman [Graham] says, 'about two weeks,' because I'm a very driven person," Winfrey shared. "Also, I believe that I am here to fulfill a calling…I will die in the midst of doing what I love to do. And that is using my voice and using my life to try to inspire other people to live the best of theirs."
