Weeks after Us Weekly first reported that Lauren Conrad is returning to reality TV, she confirmed the news Friday to The Hollywood Reporter. The new series will follow fashion designer Conrad, 24, as she creates a line of evening wear and launches her label. MTV, the same network that made her a star on Laguna Beach and The Hills, is behind the new show.

"I'm so excited to take on this new project that really focuses on my true passion," Conrad told THR. "I'm happy to be partnering with MTV because I have had such an amazing relationship with them and love being a part of the network."

Conrad didn't give much specifics about the show during a Friday interview with Ryan Seacrest. "It'll be something very different," the fashion designer said on Seacrest's KIIS-FM radio show. She stressed that her beau, actor Kyle Howard, "will not be on it."

She told Seacrest she'll likely begin shooting soon. "It'll probably start in October," she said.

Exhausted by having cameras track her every move 24/7, Conrad walked away from the smash MTV reality The Hills in 2009.

But, she told Seacrest, she's given it some more thought lately.

"I've always been open to doing reality again," she said. "Just under different circumstances. As long as you have a separation, then it works.  You have your personal life and you have work life; when it's combined, it's difficult."

Of Conrad's new series, show producer Gail Berman told THR: "It will be a lot of fun to be exploring her new work adventure with her."
