Get psyched for a supernova of singing ladies!
Glee creator Ryan Murphy is developing a jaw-droppingly star-packed movie musical comedy called One Hit Wonders, and he hopes to cast a few women already familiar with Hollywood audiences: Gwyneth Paltrow and her gal pals Reese Witherspoon, Cameron Diaz and Beyonce!
Deadline first reported the story, which was later confirmed by both Entertainment Weekly and The Hollywood Reporter. The planned musical, already picked up by Sony, would be about three 90s-era singers (Diaz, Witherspoon, Paltrow) with one hit to their name each, who try to form a girl group to reclaim their fame. Saturday Night Live's Andy Samberg would pen original music for the flick; at the moment, new mom Beyonce's role in the film is not yet known.
Paltrow has son onscreen in projects like Glee, Country Strong and Duets; Witherspoon, 36, proved her vocal chops in Walk the Line. But Diaz, 39, notoriously mangled the song "I Just Don't Know to Do With Myself" in My Best Friend's Wedding.
