Bachelorette stars giving back!
They’ve both traveled worldwide on Emily Maynard‘s quest to find true love with Jef Holm, and after accepting Holm’s proposal on The Bachelorette‘s July 22 finale, the couple are off globetrotting again — this time to give back in Ghana.
Trekking to the African country on behalf of Holm’s People Water charity, the just-engaged reality stars joined People Water co-founder Cody Barker and Creative Director Bronson Christensen to visit the area in northern Ghana where they had two water wells built.
The organization’s co-founder Holm — who markets the purified water in stores like Whole Foods and donates an equal amount of water to those in need — is thrilled to be able to indulge his philanthropic passion with his bride-to-be, 26.
“@EmilyMaynard & I are going to Africa to help change people’s lives,” Holm, 28, tweeted July 26, along with a photo of his group at the airport, and later, one of Maynard touring Ghana’s Elmina Castle. “I couldn’t love her more. She’s my best friend.”
When the duo return from their humanitarian effort, they’ll again be on the move, as Holm intends to relocate from Utah to Charlotte, N.C. to be closer to Maynard and her daughter, Ricki, 7.
“We’re going to combine our lives and I’m going to hang out with Ricki all the time and become a carpool dad,” Maynard’s fiance — who popped the question with a $68,000 Neil Lane sparkler — has said. “We’re just going to live our lives together and get accustomed with each other, plan a wedding, and when we get married, move in together.”
