American Idol doesn't premiere until Tuesday, but Us has rounded up the top TV picks to bide the time until Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and the gang make and break wannabe singers' dreams.

They're no Gleeks, but the How I Met Your Mother cast attempt their best song-and-dance sequence to celebrate their 100th episode, airing Monday on CBS. After stringing along viewers along for five seasons, show producers have hinted that they're on the verge of revealing Ted's as-yet-unseen wife (the titular character). And hopes are high in the landmark ep, when Ted (Josh Radnor) meets self-depricating Cindy (Rachel Bilson). Pay special attention to the last minutes of the episode, when the cast performs the original number "Nothing Suits Me Like a Suit."

Also celebrating a small screen milestone is Fox's The Simpsons, which airs its 450th episode Sunday with a voice cameo by Anne Hathaway. Giving the special airing three-and-a-half stars, Us' TV critic John Griffiths praises Hathaway's disarming rendition of "Moon River," and says viewers are in for a treat, as the animated hit boasts more satirical bite and belly laughs than usual.

Fresh from his fist-pumpin' Jersey Shore-style makeover, Superbad nerd Michael Cera stars in Youth in Revolt. Appearing as a high-schooler trying to lose his virginity with the help of his imaginary alter-ego, Francois. Portia Doubleday stars as Cera's crush in the coming-of-age comedy, based on the 1993 book series.

A film to skip this week is the predictable Amy Adams romantic comedy Leap Year. As a controlling Boston yuppie who travels to Ireland on February 29 to propose to her beau on Leap Day, Adams ends up falling for a local (Matthew Goode) she enlists to drive her to Dublin after a string of bad luck lands her on the other side of the country. Us' Bradley Jacobs notes the lackluster film has a few nice turns at the end, but ultimately suffers from too many cheap laughs and zero sparks between the stars.
