Talk about a party! Everyone from Pharrell Williams to Jared Leto and even David Blaine helped Bono celebrate his 54th birthday on May 10 in Los Angeles.
The bash, which took place at U2 manager Guy Oseary's house, also marked Bono's daughter's birthday. (Jordan shares the same birthday as her dad and turned 25 this year; the rocker is also dad to daughter Eve, and sons Elijah and John.)
A source tells Us Weekly "there were a lot of surprise performances—Herbie Hancock came to surprise him, he got up on stage to sing … and then Williams joined him" to sing "Happy."
The Grammy winning singer told Bono: "You've changed the world with everything you do. You give people hope, especially with your song 'Sunday, Bloody Sunday.'" Bono quipped in response: "Well, if we just keep singing 'Happy,' we won't need songs like 'Sunday, Bloody Sunday!'"
Other performers included Jon Batiste as well as ASAP Rocky, who personally sang the U2 singer's daughter "Happy Birthday."
The fete also featured David Blaine performing underwater, where he had to hold his breath for 10 minutes and five seconds—"because it was the tenth day of the fifth month." The magician wasn't able to complete the task, the source tells Us, but, he did "eat a banana" and "smoked an electric cigar under water."
A tells Us Charlize Theron and Sean Penn sent Bono quite the present as well—a shaving cream performer, who "transforms his body with shaving cream into characters." Theron couldn't attend the bash as she was hosting Saturday Night Live.
The following day, Bono joined George Clooney and fiancee Amal Alamuddin to celebrate their recent engagement in Malibu, Calif., at Cafe Habana.
