What brings you to the United States, Pippa Middleton?
The British party planner and book author, 28, was spotted hanging out with wealthy hotelier Andre Balazs, 55, over Labor Day weekend in Shelter Island, New York, Us Weekly has learned. Balazs, who once romanced Uma Thurman and Chelsea Handler, is reportedly hosting Middleton during her trip.
Wearing a white top with peplum detail and tight red pants, Middleton and Balazs dined at local restaurant Sunset Beach with a handful of friends September 2. Though she initially managed to go unnoticed, fellow diner and MTV Canada host Aliya Jasmine Sovani tells Us exclusively that Middleton began to gain attention while waiting to use the ladies' room.
"She got really embarrassed when some people recognized her while she was in line," Sovani says. "She actually turned bright red!"
Sovani adds that Middleton "didn't have security" and "was very low-key" during her nearly two-hour meal. Embracing the warm weather, Middleton was also seen "walking around with bare feet, holding her wedges in her hand."
One night earlier, Middleton was seen dining at New York City's Catch restaurant, where she and two pals shared a bottle of white wine and enjoyed chef Hung Huynh's rice cakes, crispy shrimp, catch roll, hellfire roll, salmon carpaccio and scallop dumplings.
A source says Middleton's trip to the United States isn't just for fun: she will attend publisher meetings and do an interview. Her sister Kate Middleton's brother-in-law, Prince Harry, recently spent some time in Las Vegas, where he was photographed playing strip billiards with an unidentified woman in his hotel suite.
In the new issue of Us Weekly, out now, fellow Vegas partier Melissa Vagner says the 27-year-old redhead "had two things in his sights: vodka and women." Harry has since returned home to his native England.
