With Hurricane Irene threatening to ravage the East Coast, stars like Sarah Jessica Parker, Alec Baldwin and Katie Couric are taking every precaution necessary to ensure the safety of their families.

Parker, 46, told reporters that she has water, flashlights and batteries. The I Don't Know How She Does it star is also "removing anything that could fly through windows," the AP reports.

"Preparing for Irene! Went to drugstore at 7:30 and no flashlights! Arrrgh! Will try later," Couric, 54, tweeted Friday. "Talking to my mom a lot –she's quite nervous. She'll spend the night with my brother (he has a generator). Thinking of my D.C. area pals!"

Despite her fears, Couric managed to find some humor in the situation. "An earthquake and a hurricane impacting the same region in one week? Crazy! What's next? Locusts? Pestilence?"

30 Rock's Baldwin seems a bit frazzled, if not amused, by the impending weather. "Is the storm coming here? IS THE STORM COMING HERE?!?!" the 53-year-old actor tweeted Friday. "AAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHH!"

"I have water, batteries, a Scrabble dictionary, peanut M&Ms, a copy of Decision Points and a Thigh Master," Baldwin added.

While her sister Kim honeymoons in Italy with Kris Humphries, Khloe Kardashian, 27, tweeted that she's "preparing DASH NYC for the hurricane. So scary!"

As for CNN's Anderson Cooper, 44? "I went grocery shopping in NY for canned food in case Irene knocks power out," he tweeted. "The supermarket was empty of people and the shelves were packed."
