Mark Ronson spent one of the happiest, most momentous days of his life minus one very special friend: the late Amy Winehouse.

The musician and superstar producer, who produced Winehouse's classic Back to Black album, wed French model Josephine De La Baume in the South of France on Saturday with boldfaced guests like Lily Allen, Kate Moss, model Irina Lazareanu and Ronson's fashion designer sister Charlotte Ronson.

And despite the glitz and joy of the big day, the absence of Winehouse, who died suddenly July 23 at age 27, was felt acutely, a source tells Us Weekly, adding that Ronson, 35, and De La Baume, 26, toasted the "Rehab" singer during the fete.

"Amy was a great friend of both Mark and Josephine and they would have been thrilled to have her with them at their big day, but sadly it wasn't to be."

Hours after Winehouse's body was discovered, Ronson shared his grief with Twitter followers. "She was my musical soulmate and like a sister to me," Ronson wrote. "This is one of the saddest days of my life."

Indeed, the source adds: "Amy would definitely have sung one of her hits at the wedding if she were still alive, as she meant to much to both of them. Her death devastated the pair of them."

Still, the two-day nuptial affair in Aix de Provence, France, went well. The duo met in March 2009, got engaged this past February and planned their elaborate wedding in just six months.

"It's clearly true love," the wedding source says. "There was a great deal of planning involved – especially to get celebrity friends in at such short notice, but it all worked extremely well."

Ronson looked super-snazzy in a candy-striped suit and Ray-Bans, while his stunning bride wore a custom-designed, low-cut Zac Posen gown. The bash — the band The View played during the reception– was held near De La Baume's hometown.
