The Oprah Winfrey Show may be a thing of the past, but its most beloved annual holiday tradition lives on.
This year, Oprah flew 29 military wives and one military husband to Washington, D.C., and shocked them all when she revealed the real reason for their visit: her Favorite Things.
“Here’s the truth . . . There’s nothing I love more than sharing what I love with other people,” the OWN CEO explained to the already teary-eyed crowd. “And there’s nobody in the world more deserving of a day like you’re about to have.”
Among the dozens of presents Oprah bestowed on her guests during the two-hour special, which aired Sunday, Nov. 17? A Jetson E-Bike, Ralph Lauren sweaters, Coach puffer jackets, an India Hicks Diamond Necklace, a Tory Burch tote, metallic Michael Kors high tops and a Tempur-Cloud Supreme Mattress.
Just when they thought the gift-fest had finished, the host announced she had one final surprise for her audience: a Fiji Island getaway at the luxurious Namale Resort and Spa. The posh vacation became even more meaningful when eight of the recipients revealed that they had never gotten to have a honeymoon, and several others confessed it had been years since they were able to vacation with their significant others.
