Guess Charlize Theron will only be donning a wedding dress if it's for a movie role.

The Oscar-winning actress, 35, famously said in the past that she would not marry unless the institution was legalized for gays and lesbians. Now that that's come to pass in New York and other states, however, the stunning star revealed she'll never get married, period.

"Marriage — before I felt this way about [marriage equality] — was never something that was important to me," Theron explained on CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight. "I don't know the exact reason for that," Theron said.

Theron and longtime beau Stuart Townsend were together for nearly a decade before splitting up in January 2010.

"Some would say because I came from a very troubled marriage," she mused. "My parents did not have a good marriage, but I don't think it's that."

All she wants for herself? "A long-term relationship…That's the kind of union that I want," Theron prescribed. "The actual ceremony is not something that is important to me — but I see the importance for other people."
