Us Critic: Why Sandra Bullock, Mo’Nique Will Take Home Oscars

If Us handed out the Oscars, it would be all about the ladies at this year's show.

Us Weekly senior movie editor Bradley Jacobs is ready for an Academy Awards showdown between Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep for this year's Best Actress trophy.

Bullock is the frontrunner for her role in The Blind Side (her biggest competition: Streep in Julie & Julia).

Jacobs expects Mo'Nique to take to honors in the Best Supporting Actress category, calling her nomination for her role as a shockingly abusive mother in Precious "the biggest lock since Jennifer Hudson was in line to win for Dreamgirls."

Finally, our critic is rooting for Inglorious Basterds' Christoph Waltz to earn Best Supporting Actor. Although stars like Matt Damon and Woody Harrelson are also up for the award, Jacobs is confident in his pick.

"[There's] no real reason" why he'll lose," reasons Jacobs, "so I hope he's at home polishing up his acceptance speech!"
