Beyonce, 30, said her first producer had her listen Jackson's "Who's Loving You" on repeat. "What he wanted me to learn was his soul. You could hear his soul," she explained in her letter. "It's something that's God given."

And the mother of Blue Ivy, 5 months, and wife of rapper Jay-Z credits the King of Pop for teaching her that "sometimes you have to forget technique."

"Michael Jackson changed me, and helped me to become the artist I am — Thank you Michael."

Jackson died on June 25, 2009 from an overdose of the anesthetic propofol when he was just 50 years old.

His brothers Marlon, Jermaine, Tito and Jackie are paying tribute to him through song on their Unity concert tour. The former Jackson 5 members told Us Weekly exclusively Monday, "Michael is always in our thoughts and in our hearts, but this year his presence is especially strong since we are out on our Unity Tour 2012, the first tour we've done together since 1984. We know Michael would have loved to be a part of this, so we're up there on stage, playing the hits and honoring his memory."
