After Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson split in December, she famously rebounded in late January with Sean Penn. Her ex-husband, however, still needs time to heal.

"Anyone who gets divorced goes through a lot of pain, but you come out of it," the Green Lantern actor, 34, tells the new issue of Details mag.

"I'm not out of it yet. At all," he admits, but notes he still has "optimism" for the future.

One thing that future might not hold is another marriage. "I don't think I want to get married again," muses the hunk, whose previous exes include one-time fiancee Alanis Morissette. "But you always reevaluate these things."

"Any kind of crisis can be good," he muses of his sad split. "It wakes you up. I gotta say, I'm a different person than I was six months ago."

And although Reynolds was spotted getting friendly with stunning German model Agnes Fischer while shooting his flick Safe House in South Africa earlier this year, he claims he's not ready to start dating again.

"I'm very happy not to be in a relationship right now," he says. "That's okay. I didn't plan on it, that's for sure . . . but that's okay."

Dating "just seems so kind of alien to me at this point," he explains. "I've been in relationships pretty much since high school. Some people look at that as a good thing. I think wiser people might see that as a house of cards."

Although he refuses to get into specifics about Johansson, he praises how they ended their nearly two-year marriage: "Departing a relationship and still maintaining the idea that this is still the same person I married is a great luxury that I experienced. Thankfully I was in a relationship where two people chose to remain on the high road in every regard."

For now, he's relishing his work in Safe House — which demands death-defying stunts and intense emotional scenes. "I cried 26 times yesterday," he boasts to the mag.

Gushes his longtime pal Sandra Bullock (also nursing wounds from a messy divorce): "As his friend, any dark secrets that I may or may not know are forever safe with me. Unless he doesn't do something I want him to do, like babysitting," jokes the mom to Louis, nearly one and a half.
