Alana AKA Honey Boo Boo

All that “redneck-onizing” Alana Thompson does on a daily basis? Turns out it isn’t nearly as lucrative as one would think.

Toddlers & Tiaras‘ 7-year-old breakout star — known to viewers as Honey Boo Boo Child — and her family pull in just $2,000 to $4,000 per Here Comes Honey Boo Boo episode, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Considering TLC’s incredible success chronicling the adventures of Alana, her mother, her three sisters and her father, affectionately dubbed “Sugar Bear,” the Thompson crew’s salary per episode is actually quite low. (THR points out that, for its August 29 episode, the program saw a 30 percent increase in viewers from the previous week, attracting an audience of 3 million — and beating every network’s coverage of the Republican National Convention.)

Another TLC-groomed star, Kate Gosselin, raked in a reported $250,000 per episode of Kate + 8; Jersey Shore‘s Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi landed a $30,000-per-installment deal with MTV.

Still, June Shannon — aka “Mama” — told TMZ recently THR was way off the mark and that her family is actually “very well compensated” for the program (She refused to discuss specific numbers).
