An Orange County judge appointed an independent guardian to oversee finances for her children. Paul Peterson, a former child star who became a children's activist, filed a lawsuit — with the help of attorney Gloria Allred — that asked the court to appoint such a person to protect the single mother's 14 children and their "potential business activities" after claiming she has used her brood for monetary gain.

On Monday, Superior Court Judge Gerald Johnston granted Peterson's request. The major influx of money the guardian will soon oversee will be the family's new reality series. After weeks of meetings and negotiations, Suleman's attorney Jeff Czech confirmed exclusively to Usmagazine.com that Suleman signed a deal in June to star in a new documentary-style show that chronicles her kids' lives.

"They came up with this idea, presented to her and she liked it because she'll get to use a camera and do some of the filming herself," Czech told The Associated Press over the weekend. "They might be several shows aired during a year. There are all kinds of possibilities. It really depends on what the networks want," her lawyer told Us.
