Britney Spears is slamming a shocking new lawsuit filed Wednesday against her by a former bodyguard.  Fernando Flores has sued the singer, 28, alleging sexual harassment, emotional distress and even the physical abuse of her kids.

On Thursday, Spears released a statement on her website: "This lawsuit is another unfortunate situation where someone is trying to take advantage of the Spears family and make a name for himself."

Among Flores' lurid claims: that Spears repeatedly "exposed herself" to him, paraded around her home in the nude, engaged in "sex acts" in front of him and "savagely hit" her son Sean Preston with Flores' belt. He also charges that Spears made frequent "unwanted sexual advances" toward him. Flores, who reportedly worked for the singer for several months earlier this year, is seeking unspecified damages.

Spears' statement continues: "The Department of Children and Family Services conducted a proper investigation surrounding Mr. Flores' accusations and have closed the case without any further action. Ms. Spears and her attorneys have every expectation that this matter will be dismissed by the courts."

Also defending Spears? Ex-husband Kevin Federline. His attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan told the Associated Press that Flores' "allegations are a product of economic motives…They are as baseless as they seem."

Kaplan added that Federline — who had Flores' claims looked into — would have intervened earlier had he suspected any wrongdoing by Spears.

The bodyguard's intent to sue was leaked to the press months ago, Kaplan points out.

"I think that the timing of this and the nature of the allegations speak for themselves," he told the AP.

Spears and Federline, 32, divorced in 2007 after two years of marriage. (They famously fought a pitched custody battle in 2007 and 2008, during which time Spears suffered a mental breakdown.) Federline has primary custody of Sean, nearly 5, and Jayden, nearly 4, but Spears has substantial visitation rights.
