Who knew John Mayer was such a Bachelor buff?
During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres show earlier this week, Mayer bonded with DeGeneres about his obsession with the reality show. After a pal stayed on him to give the series a chance, Mayer, 34, said he finally caved and started watching during "the Brad Womack year."
"I don't even feel like it's my fault for liking it," the "Half of My Heart" singer says. "It's not a guilty pleasure. It's designed to be a pleasure."
Explained Mayer, "It's like a producer's game. I wouldn't be as excited to meet a cast member as I'd be to meet the guy who cuts that show. They have to ask someone like Ben [Flajnik] like, 'Okay, Ben, we need you to walk out on the balcony without a shirt and just think.'"
The Grammy winner even busted out his Ben Flajnik impression when DeGeneres asked for his opinion on last season's controversial final rose recipient, Courtney Robertson.
"There was nothing you could say to [Ben] to not pick Courtney. Girls were coming up to him, like, 'I watched Courtney rip somebody's face off.' And he'd go, 'I'll take that under consideration,'" Mayer joked.
"What if they come to you and say, 'Would you be the Bachelor?'" DeGeneres asked her guest.
The unlucky-in-love crooner–who has had high-profile romances with A-listers like Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Aniston–paused before replying.
"It's one of those things where I would waste their time taking a meeting, just so I could hear more about it," he shares. "Ultimately I'd say no. But I would just have to take the meeting."
